A development company has withdrawn its appeal from the Tender Review Authority, which was aimed at what they perceived as unfair exclusion from tender procedures, thereby allowing the development of the port to continue.
The developer, ERA Consortium, had originally appealed the decision that excluded the company from tender for the development of the Larnaca port and marina area on the 30th of June.
This resulted in the Tender Review Authority putting forth interim measures, delaying a finalized agreement for the development work.
However, on the 9th of August, ERA Consortium’s legal counsel contacted the Tender Review Authority and communicated their client’s desire to withdraw the appeal.
As it stands now, the Tender Review Authority has discarded the appeal, which means the path towards development at the Larnaca port and marina site is once again open.
ERA’s initial appeal was submitted after the Transport Ministry stated that the company’s interest in the project didn’t fit the criteria e ministry used for selecting candidates, which was why the company was excluded from tender proceedings.
